Bins clear-up continues

WORK was continuing this weekend to clear the backlog of thousands of unemptied bins in the Capital following the move to fortnightly collections.

Overflowing bins are still visible across the city, with some residents complaining they had been waiting up to four weeks between uplifts.

The News told earlier this week that workers from recruitment agency Blue Arrow were now being paid to help remove rubbish which has piled up since weekly collections were scaled back earlier this month.
