Bin men take pay battle to recycling site
AROUND 100 bin men, street cleaners and other city council workers were protesting outside a recycling centre today.
They were picketing Craigmillar Recycling Centre from 6am, to protest against cuts in wages.
Bin worker Paul French, who this week the News revealed had been sacked for speaking out about the dispute, said: "The fact that the workforce are still maintaining their rights to picket shows they feel so strongly about the dispute."
Raymond Watt, one of the organisers, said they were pleased by the high turn-out.
