Battery of contenders

PRIMARY schools across the city are competing for the chance to record their own “eco-song” as part of a creative contest designed to teach pupils about the importance of battery recycling.

To enter, schools must create a track that encourages people to start recycling their batteries.

Pupils from the winning school will visit a studio to professionally record their eco-song and will receive a copy to take home on CD. One runner-up school from each local authority will win £250 in garden vouchers to create an outdoor ‘green area’. The eco-song competition was launched by Repic, a recycling organisation behind battery compliance scheme
e-Batt, as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the issue.
