Band fire into charts after surviving Dragons

A MUSICIAN who braved Dragons' Den to fund his band's next album has seen their latest single shoot to number three in the indie charts.

James Ingham, from Leith, is guitarist of Hamfatter, who in July successfully persuaded Dragon Peter Jones to stump up 75,000 to fund their work and free them from the clutches of the major record labels.

Their latest single, The Girl I Love, was released last week, and the album, What Part of Hamfatter Do You Not Understand?, has also been re-released.

James said the Dragon had been a hands-off investor: "I've only seen him once since the programme when he came to a gig we did. He really enjoyed it and we had a beer with him afterwards.

"It's been great since the programme, there have been lots of radio promotions and a couple of in-store signings, which went really well. It's been fantastic."
