Asbo bans woman from hosting loud parties
A WOMAN has been given a full Asbo banning her from hosting loud parties in her home.
Shirley Anne Halliday, of Eskview Road, Musselburgh, was given the antisocial behaviour order at Haddington Sheriff Court on December 22, and it was served against her on Monday.
Halliday had been given an interim Asbo covering the same behaviour in November.
Under the terms of the order, the 40-year-old is prohibited from "acting in an antisocial manner or in a way that is likely to cause alarm and distress to neighbours by shouting, swearing, being abusive or threatening towards her neighbours or others in the area, or allowing visitors to her home to do the same".
The Asbo also bans Halliday from "holding excessively loud parties or allowing excessively loud music to be heard playing from her home".
East Lothian Council's antisocial behaviour team worked closely with police to compile a dossier of evidence, which was used in court.
Councillor Stuart Currie, the council's housing leader, said: "We hope that this Asbo will make a real and lasting difference for neighbouring residents, and serve as a warning to others."
