Appeal after two killed on M8
POLICE have renewed their appeal for witnesses following a crash on the M8 which killed a woman and her young son.
The 30-year-old and her two-year-old son were killed near Harthill on August 31.
Two other women remain in a serious condition in hospital following the two-car collision, which took place at about 7.30pm when a Ford Mondeo hit a Vauxhall Corsa travelling in the opposite direction.
Pc Pamela Campbell, from Strathclyde Police's road policing department at Motherwell, said: "This was a horrific road crash where a mother and son lost their lives and two women remain in a serious condition in hospital.
"In particular, I am appealing for a woman who is believed to be of eastern European origin to come forward. It is believed that she helped to administer first aid at the scene of the accident and may have seen what happened."
