Another case of swine flu in Lothians as the virus spreads
ANOTHER case of swine flu has been confirmed in the Lothians.
Laboratory tests have confirmed a further 72 cases of the influenza A (H1N1) virus across Scotland, the Scottish Government said yesterday.
Of the latest confirmed cases, five are travel-related. There are now 992 confirmed cases in Scotland. The latest cases included 61 in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, three in Lanarkshire, two in Forth Valley, two in Grampian, two in Tayside, and single cases in Lothian and Highland.
Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "We will, as the outbreak develops through community transmission, perhaps need to move towards a flexible model of treatment which reflects the needs of individual regions."
