Amber weather alert for Scotland
MOTORISTS are being warned that bad weather is likely to bring disruption to parts of Scotland today.
Heavy, persistent rain and winds are expected to move across southern and eastern parts of the country from lunchtime.
An amber alert has been issued for the Borders, Lothians and Fife, where strong winds and rain have the potential to cause disruption.
Transport minister Keith Brown said: “In light of the Met Office warning for wind and rain in many parts of the country, our trunk road operating companies have all their resources available, including patrols, and will pre-position resources in areas of special attention.
“Our Multi Agency Response Team will be operational until the weather improves.”
