Accused bailed on baby theft

A WOMAN appeared in court yesterday charged with stealing a baby from a flat in Paisley.

The 21-year-old, from Newmilns, East Ayrshire, is alleged to have stolen the one-year-old boy in the Shortroods area on 12 September.

She appeared on petition at Paisley Sheriff Court, made no plea or declaration and was released on bail.

The sheriff has prohibited her from returning to the property.
