60th birthday party for NHS
A SPECIAL celebration to mark the 60th anniversary of the National Health Service has been staged by West Lothian Council.
Provost Tom Kerr hosted a civic reception at Strathbrock Partnership Centre in Broxburn recently, with guests including Doctor Charles Winstanley, the chair of NHS Lothian; Bob Anderson, chair of West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership; and council chief executive Alex Linkston.
They were joined by local councillors, volunteers, council officials and current and former NHS staff to enjoy a specially designed cake, in the shape of an ambulance.
