40 dealers jailed in wake of crackdown
MORE than 40 drug dealers have been jailed for a total of 26 years following a string of raids by police.
The dealers were targeted by Operation Focus, which saw hundreds of officers tackle heroin networks across West Lothian in April.
The operation has continued in recent months with a sweep against other criminals, such as serial housebreakers, which has seen another 91 arrests.
The force yesterday sent out 150 Christmas cards to people with outstanding warrants, reminding them to pay their fines or face spending the festive period in custody.
Superintendent Jeanette McDiarmid said: "The message today is that Operation Focus will not go away, we will continue to respond to the concerns of local people, and will always take the strongest action possible against the perpetrators."
