200 arrests for child porn
POLICE have arrested more than 200 people for possessing child pornography in Lothian and Borders since 2007, new figures have shown.
The total includes 29 who have been snared this year.
The figures showed that 21 people were arrested for the offences in 2007, rising to 45 in 2008, 35 the following year, with 34 in 2010, and 43 last year.
Edinburgh man, Sandy Penman, 66, who was caught with more than 1000 photos of boys, was jailed for ten months in July.
