TV acting role terminated for poor ratings
SINGER Shirley Manson's first major dramatic TV role has been terminated due to poor ratings.
Ms Manson, 42, played fearsome cyborg Katherine Weaver in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, a television spin-off from the popular movie franchise.
She said: "I'd like to thank everyone who supported us and gave up hours of their time to watch.
"At the end of the day, that's what it's all about – the watching."
Ms Manson, a former Broughton High pupil, began her showbiz career with local band Goodbye Mr Mackenzie, before shooting to fame in the mid-90s with electro-punk outfit Garbage.
