Parkinson's sufferer has drugs stolen

A MAN suffering from Parkinson's disease had his medication stolen during a break-in at his home.

The 60-year-old victim has been forced to get a new prescription to treat the disease after the theft in Queensferry Road.

The thief broke in between 1pm and 4:15pm on Tuesday and made off with the drugs and cash.

Approximately 51 tablets of citalopram, 60 of amitriptyline, 100 of lorazepam and 32 nitrazepam 5mg tablets were stolen.

A police spokesman said: "This is a despicable act of theft that has left the victim out of pocket and requiring new medication.

"We are eager to hear from anyone with information that can assist with our enquiries and help locate those responsible.

"The drugs that were taken present a serious health risk if taken by anyone other than the prescribed sufferer."
