John Prescott takes express route
FORMER Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott MP looked in fighting form as he hit the campaign trail in Edinburgh yesterday.
He claimed that the First Minister has been responsible for a "Salmond slump" in Scotland's fortunes, and added of the SNP: "I thought they were the Scottish Tory party."
Mr Prescott arrived in the city in a minibus called The Prescott Express and chatted to the public outside a Tesco Metro store on Nicolson Street.
• Gordon Brown was expected to hold out the prospect of "an age of shared prosperity" when he addresses Labour's Scottish conference this afternoon.
