Firms owned by staff can do just Fyne

THE boss of seafood supplier Loch Fyne Oysters is to speak in the Capital about the benefits of selling businesses to staff.

Managing director Bruce Davidson is the keynote speaker at an event hosted by The Scottish Family Business Association and Co-operative Development Scotland.

Loch Fyne Oysters has been employee-owned since 2003, when it was sold following the death of co-founder Johnny Noble.

At the event, on 27 October at Henry Duncan House on George Street, Mr Davidson will argue that employee ownership can be beneficial. He said: "The employees feel they are working for a company with a high degree of loyalty and are willing to make a personal sacrifice."
