Scott Granger: Why I've got hots for Kelly Clarkson
I've had some time off and I think I am getting used to it - so if anyone wants to pay me to do nothing, just drop me a line. Until that dream comes true, however, here are two hot tracks for those with and without Adam's apples.
One for the withouts comes from American pop princess Kelly Clarkson. It's her brand new single My Life Would Suck Without You, the first single off her fourth studio album titled, All I Ever Wanted.
Clarkson first showed on the pop radar after she won the very first series of American Idol, back in 2002.
Soon after that she became a worldwide superstar and to date had three platinum selling albums and five No1 singles across the globe.
My Life Would Suck Without You became her biggest selling single in the United States after it rocketted from No97 in the chart straight to No1.
That's a jump that is just plain crazy but well deserved as it is a great release.
As it is a pop/rock track, it may not be up to everyone's taste, so I'd recommend the Chriss Ortega mix for those who like to live their lives a few BPM faster than the norm.
One for those with Adam's apples comes from 'the guy who created disco'. Since he is only 24 years old I never really got what Calvin Harris meant by that. Anyway, he is back with a spanking new track, I'm Not Alone. It will be the first single off his new album, and while I don't have the foggiest what he will call it, if this track is anything to go by it is gonna be an amazing little album.
I'm Not Alone has been described as, 'A slice of euphoric dance, drawing comparisons with later 1990s dance music'.
I'm gonna swap that description for one of my own, 'It's bangin'.' I must admit that the start of the track is very different to the way it ends, that did surprise me, but then I like that sort of thing.
You can download it from April 4 or grab the CD on the April 13. and when I hear anything about the album, you will be the first to know.
