Scott Granger: Christina Aguilera just keeps getting better

WELL, last week I had the X Factor in my praises with the charity song they released, which is for a great cause. But what happened on Saturday night TV?

Laura over Ruth - you've got to be kidding me. Ruth is amazing but Laura is out of this world and I thought it was going to be between her and Diana to win the whole competition.

Obviously the public, or Louis Walsh, thought different - which has totally turned the show on its head. Let's see what happens next.

Rant over, it's music time . . .

Christina Aguilera has just released Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade Of Hits, which is a compilation of all her biggest hits from 1999 to 2006 like Dirrty, What A Girl Wants and Candyman. But she has done something a little bit different from what most people do on a greatest hits album and that's to include two new tracks, Keeps Getting Better and Dynamite.

She's also re-made two older tracks in the shape of Genie In A Bottle - now Genie 2.0 - which she previewed at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, and Beautiful, which she re-made to the style of the music on her next album, giving us a preview of what's to come.

One for the girls is from independent lady Alesha Dixon with her brand-spanking-new track The Boy Does Nothing, taken from her new album The Alesha Show, which is due out on November 24.

This mambo-style cheeky track is brilliant, with some great remixes to go along with it - but by far my favourite is the Crazy Cousins' remix that adds even more mambo madness to the track.

One for the boys comes from ex-Dipset member Jim Jones with Pop Champagne, which was produced by Ron Browz, a man making a big splash just now with his music.

The track is the first single off Jones' fifth studio album, Pray For Reign, which won't be out until January but it is going be worth the wait, as it features guests like 50 Cent, Lil Wayne and Ludacris, as well as productions by No ID.

Oh, and my favourite producer Ryan Leslie is on there, too. Can't wait for that one.

Scott Granger, Monday and twice monthly on Saturdays, Shanghai @ Le Monde, George Street, 0131-270 3900
