POLICE were today making a fresh appeal for witnesses a week on from a robbery at a cash-and-carry which saw its boss tied up and dumped in an office by a gang of thieves.
Three men staged the robbery at Direct Distribution in the Murraysgate Industrial Estate in Whitburn at around 12.30pm last Saturday, making off with a five-figure sum of tobacco and cash.
Officers were today set to revisit the scene in a bid to trace witnesses who may have been in the area around the time, particularly motorists using the B7066.
Detective Inspector John Wyllie said: “I would encourage anyone who lives or works in the area who thinks they have any information, however small it may seem, to speak to officers. I’m particularly interested in hearing about any activity between 8am and 2.30pm.”
