Two arrested in £475,000 cannabis raid

TWO men have been arrested in connection with a find of illegal drugs worth almost half a million pounds.

Police found cannabis worth about £475,000 at a property in Caledonia Street in the Gorbals area of Glasgow on Monday.

Officers searched the property under warrant and the men, aged 28 and 41, were arrested.

In a separate incident, cannabis plants with a street value of around £7,000 were allegedly discovered at a house on Baird Place, Bellshill, on Saturday.

A 21-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were arrested and are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court charged with growing the plants with the 
intent to supply.
