Scottish Formula 1 racing driver Susie Wolff stopped off to give some driving tips to budding young carter Liam Georgeson, 14, from Innerleithen, Peeblesshire, on a return visit yesterday to the West of Scotland Kart Club in Larkhall, where her racing career began as a teenager.

Wolff was getting some track time as a guest driver with Saltire motorsport ahead of her forthcoming Formula 1 testing at Silverstone.

Liam, a cadet champion at club level before moving up to compete in the Rotax Minimax championship, captured a picture of Wolff on his camera phone, and revealed she told him to “stick with it and keep working hard on fitness and race craft.”
