Support for breastfeeding

AN event designed to give a confidence boost to breastfeeding mums has been held in West Lothian.

The celebration took place at The Centre in Livingston and was hailed as a success by organisers.

Leaflets and posters promoting breastfeeding were also distributed around West Lothian in support of National Breastfeeding Awareness.

Gill Cottrell, chief nurse for the West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership, said: “Unfortunately, many women don’t have the confidence to breastfeed in public places.

“This is a key reason why they may stop breastfeeding sooner than they’d like to.

“We hope the event will give mothers more confidence in breastfeeding when out and about.”
