A NEWSAGENT’S shop was broken into for the third time in 18 days on Christmas morning.

Cigarettes and National Lottery scratchcards were stolen from R S McColls in Arbroath at around 4:30am.

This was the third break-in at the shop in recent weeks, having previously been broken into on 8 and 15 December, Tayside Police said.

Officers were warning people not to accept any cigarettes or scratchcards from unauthorised vendors, and to contact them if they had any information regarding the incident.

A male was seen in the area around the time of the break-in.

He was described as stocky, aged between 20 and 30, wearing a dark beanie hat, dark jacket, blue and white hooded top, navy jeans, black and white trainers and navy gloves.
