A SECOND man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a 76-year-old woman.
The 32-year-old is due in court on Monday over the attack on Mary Coulter in her home in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, in March.
She was suffered serious head injuries and two broken arms and was left scarred by the attack, which happened at a house in Overdale Place, Overtown, in the early hours of the morning.
Another man has already been charged with the attempted murder of Mrs Coulter.
Darryl Finnie, 27, from Carluke, South Lanarkshire, made no plea or declaration when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
Strathclyde Police said a third man, aged 28, is the subject of a report to the procurator-fiscal.
