A TEENAGER who threatened to sexually assault and murder a Hollywood TV starlet has escaped being sent to jail.
Mark Geddes, 17, sent “sinister” messages to the 16-year-old actress, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and to three of her friends.
FBI investigators in Miami, Florida, joined forces with Scottish detectives to track down Geddes, who told police the threats were “pure fantasy”. He said he had been “looking for attention from celebrities”.
At Falkirk Sheriff Court, Geddes, of Haddington, East Lothian, had earlier pleaded guilty to tweeting messages of a sexual nature and threatening sexual violence.
Sheriff Craig Caldwell yesterday put Geddes on the sex offenders’ register and gave him a three-year payback order.
