POLICE have issued pictures of two men they are keen to trace as part of an investigation into the rape of woman in Glasgow.

The 24-year-old was attacked in the early hours of Monday morning, between 1am and 2am.

And Police Scotland are urgently trying to trace two men who were seen with the woman on Allison Street, near to Cathcart Road, and in Cathcard Road near a branch of Spar.

Officers are appealing for information, and have urged the two men to get in contact.

Detectives believe the men may have information that could assist police with their inquiry.

Both men were seen in the area between 12am and 1am.

‘No link’ with Toryglen attack

Police have ruled out any link between the Govanhill attack and a sexual assault on a 33-year-old woman in Toryglen.

The woman was attacked on May 10.

Superintendent Brian McInulty said: “I understand that members of both communities may be worried following these assaults.

“At this time there is nothing to suggest that these incidents are linked.”

Supt McInulty confirmed that specialist officers had been assigned to the investigations, with several lines being investigated.
