Scot dies while on holiday in Ibiza

A Scottish man has died while on holiday in Ibiza after falling from a balcony, according to reports.

The 26 year-old, who has been named as Robert Gillespie from Larbert, was fatally injured at 11.30pm on Saturday in the Ibizan resort of San Antonio.

Mr Gillespie, who according to reports was on a stag party, fell from a room on the fifth floor at the two-star Piscis Park Hotel and was pronounced dead at the scene despite several attempts to revive him.

Local media reports state that the Scot fell from a balcony at the hotel.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: “We can confirm the death of a British national in Ibiza.

“We are providing consular assistance to the family at this sad time.”
