Science humour really taking off
It Is Rocket Science Gilded Balloon, Teviot
WITH Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft playing in the background, Helen Keen popped her head out from behind a curtain and delivered a show that mixed natural flair for comedy with a nerd's fascination for all things astronomical. Occasionally the show entered into Open University territory, but she lobbed a few comedy comets into the proceedings whenever that began happening.
The point of the performance was to look at the history of rocket science. Not an obvious target for humour, perhaps but, by the end of the show, not only had the audience chortled constantly, but they'd also learned a thing or two.
