School 'blood tests' inquiry
A PRIMARY school teaching assistant has been suspended over allegations she carried out unauthorised blood tests on pupils.
It is understood she had been given permission to take a blood sample from a diabetic child at a school in Falkirk. It is alleged she then carried out tests on two other pupils using a diabetic pen.
It is not known if she used the same pen for all the tests, which took place last month.
Details of the case have been now forwarded to the procurator-fiscal.
A Falkirk Council spokesman confirmed that the member of staff had been suspended as a matter of routine while investigations were under way.
He said: "We are co-operating fully with the police."
A spokesman for Central Scotland Police said: "We can confirm officers have investigated an allegation of assault made against a member of staff."
