Scheme has changed my life
SECURING her own flat through the PSL scheme in 2007 was the catalyst for a string of positive changes in the life of mother-of-two Tracey Lambert.
The 38-year-old had just separated from her husband Nick and moved back to Edinburgh from London and was looking for help from the city council for her and her daughters Amy, 13, and Jade, 16.
"I was desperate to avoid having to move about between B&Bs and we got really lucky," she explained.
Her flat is in a block of four in Gilmerton, one of which is owner-occupied and the others council-rented.
She continued: "I do see it as a stepping stone, though, as we would like to move into our own house eventually, we have been putting the bids in with the council housing system but the competition is so tough."
Tracy is now back together with Nick.
She added: "The way we were treated has been a big factor in everything that has changed in our lives."
