Saving Leith Docks
Forth Ports' proposals to rebrand Leith Docks as "Edinburgh Harbour" is unacceptable for Leith, which has retained a strong sense of identity and community over its history. Leith was, for many years, of significant social and economic importance to Scotland. It is now time for Scotland to serve Leith; the Scottish Government should have a serious look at this proposal.
How about retaining the name Leith Docks but having a "motto" for the new international terminus, such as "Leith Docks – Gateway to Edinburgh and Scotland". This would preserve the name of Leith Docks, while encouraging business by including the word Edinburgh.
