Salad days for Widows staff
BRITISH Heart Foundation team leader Laura Thomson helps Cameron Hobbs of Scottish Widows get in shape as part of a partnership between the two organisations.
The insurance organisation has raised more than 20,000 as part of a deal with BHF.
In the last six months workers at the Dalkeith Road Scottish Widows generated 23,000 for the charity thanks to a range of fundraising initiatives. The link sees BHF nurses visiting the headquarters to check over staff and offer health advice.
The partnership is scheduled to last at least until 2010, Scottish Widow bosses said, and the latest fundraising drive should pay for around 1000 hours of nursing duties.
