Ryanair to end airport check-ins earlier
NO-FRILLS airline Ryanair has brought forward its plan to scrap airport check-in desks from the end of the year to 1 October.
The budget Irish airline also said that from 1 May all new bookings would have to be made on the internet and the fee for airport check-ins would double to 20.
The low-fare carrier further announced that from 1 October children under the age of 16 would no longer be able to travel unaccompanied and that passports and national ID cards would be the only accepted forms of photo identification.
The airline announced last month that it was scrapping its airport desks, citing the fact that 75 per cent of its passengers already used its website check-in service.
