Rowling given French honour
HARRY Potter author JK Rowling has been inducted into France's prestigious Legion of Honour.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy gave the Edinburgh writer the honorary title of "knight" in the legion during a ceremony in a gilded hall in the Elyse presidential palace yesterday.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix became the first novel written in English ever to top the French best-sellers' list.
