Rosslyn reels out another film success
A FILM produced to promote Rosslyn Chapel has been nominated for awards at film festivals around the world.
The Rosslyn Enigma was made by VisitScotland and Scottish Screen last year as a way to dispel myths about the ancient chapel ahead of the screen adaptation of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code.
In February, the half-hour production was a finalist in the Tourism Sales Category of the New York Festivals International Film and Video Awards. It was also awarded third place at The Golden City Gate Awards in Berlin and is currently nominated for six other film awards this year.
Karin Finlay, of VisitScotland said: "We created the documentary with Scottish Screen to capitalise on the global popularity of the Da Vinci Code and encourage fans to come to Scotland and visit Rosslyn Chapel for themselves.
"We were also extremely keen to dispel some of the myths portrayed in the book and film about Rosslyn and, most importantly, make people aware that the Trust is a conservation project.
She added: "We have been overwhelmed by the response as each screening of the Rosslyn Enigma seemed to generate more requests for copies and additional screenings."
