Rollercoaster fire ‘suspicious’
A BLAZE that engulfed a historic seafront rollercoaster is being treated as suspicious.
The fire destroyed more than a third of the rollercoaster at Margate’s former Dreamland amusement park yesterday. The Grade II scenic railway, the oldest rollercoaster of its kind in the world, had not run for two years.
A Kent Police spokeswoman said the cause of the fire was still under investigation but was being treated “as suspicious”.
