Rock stars give festival the Edge
THREE of the biggest names in Scottish rock and pop are to perform during this year's Edinburgh festival season.
KT Tunstall, Amy MacDonald and Fratellis frontman Jon Fratelli have all announced August dates.
Tunstall – who has sold more than four million albums – will be topping the bill at a one-off gala event at the Edinburgh Playhouse on 7 August.
Other acts in the line-up for the show – organised by the radio station Forth One – include dance stars Flawless, singing sensations The Magnets, and comedians Reginald D Hunter, Stephen K Amos, Danny Bhoy and Craig Hill.
Meanwhile, Amy MacDonald and Jon Fratelli have been added to the line-up of The Edge Festival. Its programme already includes Dizzee Rascal, Mika, Eels, Broken Records, Pearl and the Puppets and Plan B.
A spokesman said: "Originally appearing back in 2007 whilst on the cusp of fame, Amy MacDonald returns with two best-selling albums under her belt, swapping the intimate Cabaret Voltaire for the Corn Exchange on 18 August.
"After achieving stardom with The Fratellis, Jon Fratelli followed up with a critically-acclaimed collaboration with Lou Hickey as Codeine Velvet Club.
"In a real coup for the festival, his Electric Circus gig on 22 August will be his debut UK solo appearance."
