Robison calls 'urgent' talks on dementia care standards
A MEETING has been called to urgently address standards of care for those with dementia.
Following a damning report last week, Public Health Minister Shona Robison called the city seminar with various organisations to see what can be done, particularly in care homes.
The Mental Welfare Commission report made a series of criticisms, both about the standard of nursing for those with dementia and the patients' experiences.
Ms Robison said: "The report published last week cast doubt on the standard of care, especially in some care homes.
"I have called the meeting to discuss all the issues as a matter of urgency and to ensure care for older people is based on individual needs."
