A 31-year-old woman is in hospital after being found with serious leg injuries in an Edinburgh street.

• A 31-year-old woman was found with serious leg injuries in Marchmont Road at 4am this morning

• Road was sealed off for four hours while police attended the scene

Police were called to Marchmont Road in the south of the city at 4am this morning. The road was sealed off for four hours.

Police have appealed for witnesses in the area to contact them.

A spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.”

The road was closed between Marchmont Crescent and Warrender Park Road.
