Review follows patient's death
RAILS in shower rooms and on beds in Lothian hospitals have been assessed following the death of a patient at St John's Hospital.
The person, whose age or gender is not known, took their own life at the Livingston hospital.
The incident sparked an immediate review of how it happened.
NHS Lothian medical director Dr Charles Swainson confirmed that the incident had been reviewed, along with that of a patient who assaulted a nurse.
He said: "The review has been completed and identified a number of issues."
