It is with much concern that I read that the Westminster government is invading Scotland with its “big hitters” to sell Better Together to the Scottish people prior to the referendum (your report, 26 August).
Is this not a serious example of the West Lothian Question in reverse?
Surely the Westminster government should not be involved at this stage, in the build-up to the referendum, but will be afterwards, if Yes carries the day.
Whether to vote Yes or No and to argue the case for or against is a matter for those who are entitled to vote.
Westminster parties that wish to influence the voters have representatives in the Scottish Parliament to handle Scottish affairs and it is through them their case should be made.
