Reveller tells of T in Park fracas 'that led to stabbing'

A YOUNG woman told a jury yesterday that she was spat on in an incident that escalated into her friend being stabbed 11 times at the T In the Park music festival.

Laura More, 21, said she was in her tent on the festival site at Balado, Kinross-shire. She said she left the tent, saw a man and told him not to urinate on the tent.

She said: "After I said that, a boy walked over to me. He spat on my face and called me some sort of name. I was quite angry, so I spat back at him."

Ms More said another friend, Ashleigh McComb, told the man: "Don't speak to her like that".

The same man spat at Ms McComb and punched her.

Ms More said Mark Morrison, 23, the victim of the alleged stabbing, then came out of his tent and grabbed the man.

Ms More was giving evidence at the High Court in Dunfermline on the third day of the trial of two men accused of carrying out the alleged stabbing. Robert Kidd, 24, from Barrhead, Glasgow, and John Tiffoney, 25, of Cardiff, deny attempting to murder Mr Morrison.
