Revealed: Winning design for Dundee's new V&A building
JAPANESE architect Kengo Kuma has won a contest to find a design for a major new V&A building on Dundee's waterfront.
The 50million international centre for design is to be situated at Craig Harbour on the banks of the River Tay.
Work is due to get under way in autumn 2012 and is set to open in 2014.
Kuma's radical plans beat off competition from five other architects from around the world, who were in turn selected from more than 120 entries to the competition.
The other architects shortlisted in May were Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, REX, Snhetta, Steven Holl Architects and Sutherland Hussey Architects.
The V&A at Dundee is being built in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
