Retail giant predicts festive cheer for Apple with top iPad sales
THE Apple iPad is already tipped to be the best-selling gadget this Christmas, according to the UK's largest electrical retailer.
The iPad has been available since late May but DSG International (DSGi) - which owns 670 Currys and PC World stores in the UK - has backed Apple's tablet computer to top wish lists come the festive sales rush.
Jeremy Fennell at DSGi said: "There is no doubt the iPad is going to be the number one Christmas gift this year, with even more accessories launching it's only going to make a must-have technology even more attractive."
DSGi also predicted festive cheer for Microsoft's Kinect for Xbox 360, a controller-free, motion-sensing gaming device.
With Kinect's voice and facial recognition and its infrared projector that tracks precise movements, Microsoft is looking for a slice of the gaming market, dominated by Nintendo's Wii.
High-definition camcorders, 3D TVs and a digital camera which removes blemishes and wrinkles also made the top 10.
