ANIMAL welfare chiefs have rescued a neglected rabbit found dumped outside a vet.
The Scottish SPCA was alerted when the rabbit was discovered at Alban Vets on Greendyke Road, Broxburn.
She had severely overgrown teeth, long nails and an eye infection.
Now named Lily, she is recovering at the Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
Animal rescue officer Steph Grant said: “The person who left Lily clearly wanted her to receive help, but it would haven taken some time for her condition to deteriorate to such an extent and she should have received vet attention long before she was found.
“We’ll be looking to find her a loving new home once she has made a full recovery.”
