Report praises medics at ERI
MEDICS at the ERI have been praised by a report into a man who died of anthrax poisoning.
A fatal accident inquiry into the death of Borders man Pasqual Norris, 50, who died followed a visit to a drumming workshop in 2006, praised microbiologists at Little France.
In his ruling, sheriff principal Edward Bowen QC said it was thanks to the ERI that the anthrax line came to light. He said: "Mr Norris' death might have been recorded as due to natural causes had it not been for a considerable degree of diligence on the part of microbiologists."
