Referendums can save the Union
GERALD Warner is wrong to condemn the EU for requiring Ireland to have another referendum (Insight, December 14).
This establishes
an important principle. If
(heaven forbid) Salmond's rigged
referendum on breaking up the UK
results in a vote for Scotland to be
cast adrift from the security of the
UK, no problem. It would then be
clear that the voters had not understood
the arguments or what
wasat stake, so another referendum
would take place within months,
and, if necessary, another one, and
the free panto tickets given out by
Aberdeen City Council, but Peter
Pan was not specifically mentioned
in the text, and some readers may
have gained the impression that
Peter Pan had been scrapped. Far
from being scrapped, the panto is a
huge hit and ticket sales broke all
previous records BEFORE the curtain
rose on the first performance –
for the second year running.
It's particularly unfortunate as
Aberdeen Performing Arts, as a
company, has this year given away
more than 500 free tickets to Peter
Pan to local groups, charities and
worthy causes.
Joyce Summers, Press and
Communications Manager, Aberdeen
Performing Arts
so on, until the voters produce the
correct result, and separation is
rejected.
