Ready, Steady, Baby guide to make having a child 'easier'
EVERY mother-to-be in the Lothians is to be given a guide on how to raise their child throughout the first year of its life.
The Ready, Steady, Baby publication will also dispense tips for the latter stages of pregnancy and offers advice for future fathers.
Eating healthily and drinking alcohol during pregnancy, the effects of smoking pre and post-birth and postnatal depression will all be addressed in the booklet, the contents of which will also be available online later this month.
Public health minister Shona Robison said: "Having a baby is an exciting time. But it can also be an anxious time and it is vital mums can access accurate and useful advice that can help make pregnancy, birth and motherhood a little easier."
