What exactly goes on at ECC planning meetings? Do they just sit there and try to think of things that other cities have that we don't, then throw money at them? "Other cities have TRAMS. Waste of money and a dubious location. You can walk to the top of Arthur's Seat for free, getting a bit of exercise and fresh air at the same time, with arguably some much better views.

As for being assaulted because of your sexuality, may I point out that the vast majority of assaults that take place in Edinburgh are on heterosexuals. In essence you can be assaulted in Edinburgh simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If a black person gets assaulted – it's a racist hate crime. If a gay person gets assaulted – it's a homophobic hate crime. Well ... I'm white, and I'm straight. I'd like to know which band-wagon I can jump on in the event of me ever getting assaulted?

Campaigners have attacked plans to criminalise all aspects on prostitution ...

For crying out loud if people want to indulge in these practices that is their business and not Trish Godman's. What right does she have to impose her moral standards upon others? If prostitution was completely legal it would be safer and cleaner.

This is brilliant – fruit trees give you two seasons of pleasure – blossom in spring and fruit in autumn. And if you don't want to eat the fruit, then the blackbirds and thrushes will be attracted to it. Should happen all over.
