Rankin files an audio intro to RLS
AN audio introduction to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde was to be launched online today.
The introduction was written by Ian Rankin, for a new version of the novel being brought out for this year's One Book – One Edinburgh reading campaign.
And the author agreed to record a reading of the introduction which is now being made available at the campaign's website.
Ahead of the official launch on Friday, organisers the Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature Trust are also allowing visitors to the website to watch the 1920 silent movie adaptation of the book.
The film is one of dozens of adaptations of the book, and will also be screened at the Edinburgh Filmhouse on Saturday, as part of the campaign.
